Lera Auerbach:

1973- , Austrian- American

Lera Auerbach is a Soviet-born Austrian-American classical composer, conductor, and concert pianist. Auerbach is also an award winning poet and visual artist. Auerbach’s performances have been held in Vienna’s Musikverein, London’s Royal Albert Hall, New York’s Carnegie Hall, and Washington D.C’s Kennedy Center. As she is also a prolific visual artist, Auerbach believes in incorporating different forms of art together and having them build on each other. Through her art, Auerbach explored the idea of the loss of identity she feels can arise from the modern day need to multitask. More specially, Auerbach expresses how we can no longer be one person, but a collection of many.
