Nahre Sol is a Korean-American composer, pianist, and teacher. So teaches a mixture of music and musical techniques involving improvisation, traditional Western forms of harmony, jazz, and minimalism. Through her influence online and videos, Sol explores innovative ideas regarding music theory, harmony, and composition. Sol holds degrees from The Juilliard School and The Glenn Gould School of The Royal Conservatory of Music in Toronto. Through her work as a solo chamber musician, she has performed at venues across at an immense national and international scale, including venues such as The Kennedy Center in Washington D.C , The Walt Disney Concert Hall in Los Angeles, Gusman Theatre in Miami along with other venues in Canada, France, Holland, Italy, Poland, and Germany. Sol was also the recipient of the Harriet Hale Woolley Grant, allowing her to study in Paris under Gabriel Tacchino and Narcis Bonet. Additionally, Sol has also contributed to video games such as Rayark’s DEMO II and contributed to the soundtrack of the film Boss Baby II alongside Hans Zimmer and Steve Mazzaro.
In 2020, the composer released her album, Alice in Wonderland , a reflection of fond childhood memories including compositions for solo piano, synthesiser, and prepared piano. The album was additionally inspired from a minimalistic style, jazz, and French music from the 20th century.
